Design ConsiderationsCompression Stops |
Compression stops are an important feature to proper design for seals. A
compression stop is a feature built into a part or assembly that simply
limits how much a gasket will be compressed upon assembly. Typically,
screws are used to fasten parts at assembly. An ideal location for
compression stops is at or near these fastening points; this ensures
the screws are not over tightened causing the gasket to be over
compressed and damaged. | |
