If no environmental seal, demanding mechanical durability, or complex profile is needed, the conductive fabric over foam solutions are ideal. This type of solution can be the most inexpensive or lost-cost option. The covering in a conductive fabric over foam gasket can consist of a nylon thread. This thread is coated with conductive metals woven into the fabric and then wrapped over soft urethane foam. This fabric is very flexible and conformable.

Bekmar specializes in the manufacturing of several types of gaskets. The conductive gasket is available in a variety of forms. The conductive elastomer consists of either silicone or fluorosilicone binders. These binders are filled with a conductive combination of materials. This unique mixture is of silver-plated copper, silver-plated aluminum, silver-plated glass, silver, nickel, or nickel plated graphite. A conductive gasket can be used in various applications that require maximum shielding in a severe or extreme environment. Many times these applications are either military or aerospace.
